Welcome Steep Slope Contractors

CRSMCA WELCOMES... STEEP SLOPE CONTRACTORS !

The Carolinas Roofing and Sheet Metal Contractors Association, Inc. (CRSMCA) is very excited to announce that the CRSMCA Board of Directors voted in favor of creating a NEW membership category for steep slope roofing contractors.  The criterion has been developed for this particular category that closely mirrors our current contractor requirements while taking into consideration their differences.

The CRSMCA staff is developing a plan of attack in pursuing steep slope members.  Gayle will be contacting our Associate Group members to get a list of their top steep slope roofing contractor clients and that will become the target list.   With that, CRSMCA hopes to see an increase in membership as well as attendance at the 2010 Carolinas Mid-Winter Roofing Expo in January 2010.

This is a great opportunity to raise the overall bar for the roofing industry, while also making the association stronger.  Thank you for your support!

For more information, such as criteria and/or an application form, please contact the CRSMCA office               (704) 556-1228         (704) 556-1228.

Green Building and OSHA Inspections

NERCA News, August 2009

According to Michael Buchet, OSHA's Acting Director/Directorate of Construction, because of the tight deadlines set with some green building projects and since they most likely involve unconventional types of work, look for OSHA's special inspection program to focus on "green building" initiatives.  OSHA commented that these projects are so cutting-edge that few best practices have been established to guide workers or to be able to better understand the safety risks involved.

Some Good News...
NERCA News, August 2009
